2010 - Annual Seaside Daze Festival - Dominion, Nova Scotia

9:00 a.m. – MORNING WALK through the town of Dominion. Wake up and enjoy a fun leisurely walk with family and friends. Arrive at the Seaside Daze Headquarters (Macdonald Elementary School) for a quick warm-up, after which the walk will proceed through the community. Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation will be on hand to provide information and lead the walk with a banner promoting Walkabout Nova Scotia (walkaboutns.ca). 10:00 a.m. – BIKE RODEO in the parking lot of Dominion District Community Rink. Safety equipment is required for all participants, ages 5-12. Participants will receive a certificate and an entry into the draw for a brand new bicycle! Rain Venue – Dominion Rink. 11:00 a.m. – HIT, RUN, AND THROW COMPETITION at the Hawks Field. Come out and showcase your baseball talents with Dominion Minor Baseball. This event is for ages 15 and under. Participants are encouraged to be there at 10:45am. Sponsored by Dominion Minor Baseball & the Shamrock Club.

1:00 p.m. – LABATT BREWERIES HORSESHOE TOURNAMENT at the Margaret Boone Memorial Park on the Beach Road. Dominion residents or former residents only. Back by popular demand, this exciting event will pitch teams of four against one and other as they race through Dominion, completing daring and thrilling tasks along the way. Teams must consist of four members and can be made up of any age group. However, those participants under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. No vehicles will be permitted
as the race will take place on foot. Pre-registration is required with a deadline of July 24th. The first 15 teams to register will be eligible to compete in the race.
